A Guide to Obtaining an Artist Visa in Indonesia
The Impresariat (Artist) KITAS is a specialised Work Visa (index C312) designated for individuals in the arts and entertainment sector.
The Indonesia Artist KITAS is tailored for foreign citizens in creative and artistic fields who aim to share their talents and contribute to Indonesia cultural landscape. This visa accommodates a diverse range of artists, including but not limited to musicians, visual artists, performers, and other creative professionals.
Artist KITAS Validity
The Artist KITAS is categorised as a short-term permit, valid for maximum of 6 (six) months. It is non-extendable permit, requiring a reapplication for the visa from the beginning upon expiration.
Allowed Professions
The positions of foreign workers in Indonesia must align with the Decree of the Minister of Manpower number 228 of 2019 specifying positions that can be occupied by foreign workers.
The following professions are allowed for those applying for an Artist KITAS: Show Manager, Art Director, Music Director, Musician, Singer, Disc Jockey, Film Director, Actress/Actor, Lighting Director, Dancer, Acrobat, Circus Performer, Magician, Ads Model, Fashion Model.
Foreigners seeking an Artist Visa must first secure sponsorship from an entity in Indonesia. However, not every entity is eligible to be a sponsor. The Ministry of Manpower mandates that a company sponsoring a foreign worker must have a minimum investment value of IDR 1 billion (Medium-scale company) and a business license for impresariat services in the arts sector.

Following sponsorship, the company must apply for the Work Visa to the Ministry of Manpower to obtain a work permit. Note that a mandatory fee of US$100 per month must be paid upfront based on the approved time length (e.g., US$100 for 1 month, US$300 for 3 months, or US$600 for 6 months).
Next, apply for the Artist Visa (index C312) and enter Indonesia with the issued visa. The Artist KITAS will be issued electronically upon your arrival in Indonesia.
Scanned copy of passport and passport cover ( validity not less than 12 months from the application date.)
Recent photograph with a red background
CV ( Portfolio ) with work experience information
Degree certificates or academic , with background supporting certificates
Details of staying address in Indonesia, email address, and contactable phone number
Bank statement showing a minimum of US$2,000 for living expenses
Work Contract with the company sponsor
National ID ( KTP ) of the Guarantor from the company sponsor
Company sponsor’s legal documents (deed of establishment, legalisation decree, business license (NIB), Tax ID (NPWP), BPJS Certificate - ignore if you use our sponsorship)
